Supporting IT Careers & Education at Macmillan Academy
Our team attended the Macmillan Academy Jobs Fair 2026 event. We brought our Raspberry Pi along to showcase how IT education lead to fulfilling, exciting and lucrative careers!

Special thanks to the team who represented Learning Key Training & Consultancy at the Macmillan Academy Jobs Fair 2026. Each member played a valuable role in showcasing pathways into the IT industry and inspiring the next generation of learners:
Maddi (Centre Manager) — for expertly coordinating the event with Macmillan Academy and ensuring our presence was organised, impactful, and aligned with the needs of the students.
Jacob (IT Network Systems Engineer) — for developing & delivering an interactive Raspberry Pi demonstration and supporting students with thoughtful guidance on future IT career routes.

Apprenticeships are excellent government-backed programmes to give young adults the opportunity to earn-and-learn. With the rising cost of university tuition (£9,000 per year), apprenticeships allow young adults to start an early career in IT while gaining lifetime qualifications.

Many employers favour vendor qualifications over university degrees! These are certifications provided by accredited IT academies such as: Microsoft Learn Academy, Cisco Networking Academy and AWS Academy. These are hands-on certifications that, once passed, you are ready for the real world.

What is CPD? These are the ongoing courses you must take to ensure your IT skills are up-to-date and keep you relevant in the industry. Even a short course counts towards your CPD. Employers look at your CPD to make sure you are learning about the latest developments in the technology world to ensure you are not falling behind the times.
